Chris Pilkington is a founder and principal of HES Advisors. He is a specialist in the design and execution of enterprise growth strategies, with specific focus on creating value through new and/or disruptive business models enabled by technology innovation. His sector focus includes the intersection among the fields of health care, enterprise software, outsourcing, and doing business with government.
Chris is best known for his work in the healthcare information technology segment, where he has advised on M&A strategy and has helped launch multiple new products and ventures, including playing a key role in the placement of over $300M USD in early-stage venture equity. His clients have included private equity and venture investors, Fortune 1000 corporations, global IT services companies, health plans, universities, governments and early stage companies.
Chris is a former senior executive at US specialty health plan Magellan Health Services, where he helped launch a new nationwide division focused on the privatization of government health populations and the integration of major acquisitions.
Earlier in his career, Chris focused on architecture, urban design, public finance, and infrastructure. As both consultant to and senior official within government, Chris was responsible for planning over $2B USD in bond-financed capital, and held executive positions responsible for implementing over $350M USD in health care and university capital investment. As an industry analyst at the Harvard- MIT Joint Center for Urban Studies, he collaborated on US-Japan industry-sponsored research and co-authored several publications. His career achievements in architecture and design are recognized by multiple awards and citations from Progressive Architecture magazine.
