As IHCD’s Director of User Experience and Research, Jennifer coordinates a multi-disciplinary team of people in design, technology and social sciences and to help organizations that seek to apply principles of Human Centered Design in their services, policies & procedures, products and Information and Communications Technologies (ICT). For the New England ADA Center, she has particular focus on helping organizations apply section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and align with related national and international accessibility and usability guidelines such as W3C-WAI, the CVAA and ISO Guide 71. Much of her work is conducted through the engagement of ‘user-experts’ or through participatory design processes.
In addition to providing consulting and training in this area, she assisted with the launch of a multifaceted event in Boston called “Products and Technologies that Change People’s Lives”, an initiative to increase awareness to the possibilities of inclusive and universally designed products and technologies to enhance experiences and open opportunities for individuals across the spectrum of age and ability.
Prior to IHCD, she worked as an engineer and technology marketing professional in the telecommunications and automotive industries. She has experience in a variety of areas including; project management, process improvement, cost reduction, new product launches and product marketing. Jennifer also volunteers and has worked worked for several not-for-profit agencies concerned with youth, education and capacity building.
She received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MS in Engineering from Stanford University.
