The Organizational Support program is the largest of MCC's programs and is designed to strengthen the 'cultural infrastructure' of Massachusetts. MCC aims to promote excellence, education, access and diversity in the arts with flexible funding based on an evaluation of quality, community service, and administrative/financial management. Adaptive Environments is funded in the category of Service organizations. In keeping with its mission of 'working to make the world fit for all people,' Adaptive Environments provides education, technical assistance, training, and materials on access and universal design. Massachusetts' not for profit cultural industry has a $2.56 billion economic impact. More people attend cultural events in the Bay State than sporting events. The MCC helps make the arts, humanities and sciences a part of the lives of people and communities throughout the state. MCC's grants to cultural organizations assist in making programs available to broad audiences, keeping ticket prices down and allowing groups to undertake innovative programming. |
