Stacy Langton Toohey

Stacy is an occupational therapist who has experience evaluating and treating individuals at the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, activity and environmental levels within inpatient, outpatient, and community based settings.

Stacy started her occupational therapy career at UC Health San Diego Medical Center in an acute care setting where she worked with a wide range of patient populations on various intensive care and medical-surgical units. Stacy received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Colorado State University. At CSU, she contributed to a research project that examined the self-management patterns of adults with type two diabetes to create an occupational therapy-informed diabetes self-management program for underserved populations. 

Prior to becoming an occupational therapist, Stacy worked as a research assistant at UC San Diego on multiple psychiatry research projects evaluating and examining neurocognitive and neuropsychological traits associated with schizophrenia.

At IHCD, Stacy is enthusiastic about merging her clinical training as an occupational therapist with her research experience to complement inclusive design strategies with the goal of enabling people of all abilities to maximize their participation in everyday activities and improve their quality of life.
